About the event
Speakers:
Prof Shyam B. Menon, University of Delhi
Dr Leya Mathew, Ahmedabad University.
Ankhi Thakurta, University of Pennsylvania.
Some of the questions that this session seeks to engage with but is not limited
to:
How do we adjust our lenses to unravel HEIs from the perspective of Youth
Studies? How can HEIs themselves play a more transformative role in this
process? What role can social media, a new-age platform that has found
synonymity with youth, play here? How do youth traverse the education-
employment dichotomy? What are some of the lessons to be learned from the
lived experiences of youth and leaders of higher education institutions?
Furthermore, how can the homogenous category of ‘youth identity’ be
unpacked through an engagement with intersectionality? And, finally, how do
HEIs in contemporary times, engage with, and represent, the voices of the
marginalised youth?
