About the event

Raahi Adhya is a children’s literature scholar at SOAS. Her research looks into the ways in which gendering permeates Bengali fiction, specifically ‘Roopkatha’ (fairy tales) and delves into questions of childhood, gender and sexuality at the turn of the 20th century.

Rabani Garg is a Graduate Research fellow at University of Pennsylvania. She is the co-founder and editor of an Indian children’s magazine called Thinkling. She is interesting issues of representations/diversity in the literary and visual culture of YA in South Asia.

Seran Demiral is a children’s book writer and socialist from Istanbul, Turkey. Her interests include issues of alterity, gender and sexuality, queer/LGBTI+ issues and taboo topics and censorship in children’s fiction.
