About the event

This series, aims to address some key questions, such as, how do the politics of modernity/ies shape childhood and youth in India and vice-versa? How do categories of gender, labour, sexuality, disability, and other social identities intersect with childhood and modernity? How does modern media and consumer culture of young people re-shape notions of  agency, citizenship, and nationalism? Do categories of the local and global help us make sense of modern childhoods in the context of India? And finally, how does the transnational flow of global capital impact the lived realities and the ‘everyday’ of aspirational youth?
